You may have picked this up from some other source, but I thought I’d pass this on to you, just in case. One of our former WPGU staff members, Bob Greenberg, passed away this week. He served the station during our transition from AM to FM at the end of the 60’s. Bob did color commentary for many of our sports broadcasts. He also served as a Staff Announcer and often combo-ed his show. He later worked at several stations in the Chicago area, most notably WBEZ-FM, doing sports broadcasts and he provided reports to other stations, among them, KMOX in St. Louis. There are several remembrances on line:

Bob was on our list to nominate for Hall of Fame. He was a smart man who knew what he wanted and went for it. He achieved many of the things he set his mind to do, and for this he should be remembered. But he will probably most be remembered for the fact that this live sports broadcaster, interviewer, and commentator was blind.
