An updated edition of my book, FREDERICK: LOCAL AND NATIONAL CROSSROADS, is available at www.arcadiapublishing.com.

Arcadia Publishing is a nationwide publisher of local and regional history books written and assembled with a scholarly focus but presented for a general audience. In eight chapters, more than 100 images, a bibliography and an index, the paperback book presents the history of Frederick, a town whose proximity to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and major transportation routes made it a witness to major events and trends in the country's history.

The history covers Native Americans, European arrival, the Revolutionary and Civil wars, transition from backcountry town to suburb, downtown development, and into the 21st century.
