We lost one of our most passionate and active alums on Saturday – Tom Thomas, WPGU, 1974-76, to a sudden illness called aortic dissection. Tom was a member of the "Back to the Heart" fundraising committee and served on the Illini Media Hall of Fame selection committee the past two years. I am posting the following email from Ed Sackley, a long-time friend of Tom Thomas.' Plans are getting underway to start a memorial fund in Tom's name for the radio station – we will let you know when that is in place. We have also added an Alumni Search feature to the site. Registered members may now search our privacy-protected database for fellow members based on name, location, or what department/unit of Illini Media they worked for.
And finally, the Illini Media Online Shop is open for business, showcasing products from all of our units, and even some made specifically for the Alumni Club.
